Mortal Kombat II
Mortal Kombat II is the second film in the Mortal Kombat (Reboot) Collection, following Mortal Kombat from 2021. This time the fan-favourite champions are joined by Johnny Cage himself, and instead of fighting side by side they are pitted against one another in a no-holds-barred, gory tournament. What is at stake is the dark rule of Shao Kahn, which threatens the very existence of Earthrealm and everyone who defends it.
Karl Urban plays Johnny Cage, Hiroyuki Sanada returns as Hanzo Hasashi, better known as Scorpion, and Adeline Rudolph is Kitana. Tadanobu Asano appears as Lord Raiden, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi and Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade. Simon McQuoid, who directed the first Mortal Kombat, is back behind the camera. The film runs 1h 56m and carries an R rating for its violence.
On IMDb the sequel scores 7.0 from 1356 votes, ahead of the 6.1 the 2021 film holds there; no Kinopoisk score has been recorded yet, while the predecessor sits at 6.2 on that site.
