Marty, Life Is Short

Martin Short sits down to look back over a life that, by his own account, ran on joy. The documentary stitches together classic clips from his career, fresh interviews recorded for the occasion and star-studded home movies that have never been shown before. It is a portrait told largely by the people who were in the room.

Short appears as himself, and the interviews bring in longtime collaborators and friends: Steve Martin, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Ron Howard all speak on camera, while Michael Short adds a family perspective and Nancy Dolman is present through archive footage. Lawrence Kasdan directs and is also heard narrating; his earlier films include Silverado and Wyatt Earp. The runtime is 1h 42m and the film is rated PG-13.
