Atonement

Atonement adapts Dexter Filkins' New Yorker article of the same name. It follows Marine Lu Lobello, haunted by memories of a deadly incident in Baghdad, whose guilt and remorse push him to reach out to Nora, the sole surviving member of the family he believes he may have harmed. It is a war drama about the aftermath rather than the battlefield, and about what one man does with a memory he cannot put down.

Boyd Holbrook leads as Lou D'Alessandro, with Gheed Saleh as Nora, Kenneth Branagh as Michael Reid, Hiam Abbass as Mariam Khachaturian and Majd Eid as Assad. Reed Van Dyk directs; no earlier films are listed for him. The runtime is 1h 58m, and there is no age rating on record.
