Aida, the Movie

Aida, the Movie is a comedy about the filming of an episode of the series Aída. Its storylines run on two levels at once: inside the fiction, with the show's familiar characters, and outside it, with the actors themselves and their relationships with each other. From that setup the film reflects on the limits of comedy, what a comedian's work actually is, and what fame does to the people who have it. The tagline covers itself neatly: this never happened, but it could have.

Carmen Machi plays both herself and Aída, Paco León appears as himself and as Luisma, Mariano Peña as himself and Mauricio, and David Castillo as himself and Jonathan. Ana Polvorosa plays Lorena, Melani Olivares plays Paz and Eduardo Casanova appears as Fidel. Paco León also directs, after Kiki: Love to Love and Rainbow. The film runs 1h 38m; no age rating is listed.

On IMDb it holds a 6.0 from 1053 votes; there is no Kinopoisk score.
