Waiting for the Out
Waiting for the Out is a 2026 drama series about a philosopher named Dan who begins teaching a class of men in prison. Each week he leads discussions on dominance, freedom, luck and other questions that have troubled philosophers for thousands of years. Seen through the prisoners' eyes those questions take on new meaning, and the sessions both ignite passions and create tension in the room. The tagline sums up the angle: freedom isn't always on the outside.
Josh Finan plays Dan, the teacher. Stephen Wight plays Lee and Phil Daniels plays Frank, two of the men in the class, and Gerard Kearns appears as Dad. Episodes run about 45m. The series follows the class over time, so it is best taken from the first episode as the relationships in the room develop.
Audience response has been strong: the series holds 7.8 on IMDb from 626 votes.
