Untold UK: Liverpool's Miracle of Istanbul
The opening entry in the Untold UK Collection revisits one night in Istanbul. At half-time in the 2005 champion league final, Liverpool were 3-0 down, and what happened in the second half made football history. This documentary hands the story to the players themselves, who recall the match from the inside rather than leaving it to commentators.
Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard, Jerzy Dudek, Didi Hamann, Djimi Traoré, Xabi Alonso and Michael Owen all appear as themselves, and Rafael Benítez also takes part in his own words. Matthew Rudge directs. It runs 1h 18m, short enough to fit alongside a match on the same night, and carries a PG-13 rating. It is a history piece as much as a sports one, so it should work both for people who remember the final and for those who only know the result.
