The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel
This music documentary goes back to the formative years of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and looks at the profound influence of original bandmate Hillel Slovak on the group. Rather than a full career survey, it stays close to the beginning of the band and the guitarist at its centre.
Anthony Kiedis and Flea appear as themselves, alongside Jack Irons on drums and Alain Johannes on guitar and vocals. James Slovak, Hillel's brother, adds the family perspective, and Hillel Slovak himself is seen in archive footage. Performance artist Gary Allen and artist Addie Brik also take part. Ben Feldman directs. The film runs 1h 35m and is rated R.
Audiences on IMDb have scored it 7.5 from 3232 votes. No Kinopoisk score has been listed.
