The Season
The Season is a drama series set among a group of friends in Hong Kong's elite boating scene. What begins as a summer getaway on the water starts to curdle as hidden agendas come to light, and the friendships give way to betrayal and power plays. The tagline, "Revenge is in season," tells you the direction things are heading without spelling out who gets hurt.
Toby Stephens plays Christopher Hext, Jessie Mei Li is Cola, Chris Pang is Andrew Fung, Justin Chien plays David Ho and Yvonne Chapman is Madeline Huang. No director is named in the listing, and neither an episode length nor an age rating is given. The plot is a single unfolding summer, so it is best taken from the first episode rather than joined midway. It suits viewers who like their drama set among the wealthy, with yachts, loyalties and secrets in roughly equal measure.
IMDb users currently rate it 5.5 from 223 votes; no Kinopoisk score is recorded.
