The Brink of War
President Ronald Reagan is running out of time to close a deal with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, one that could begin dismantling both countries' nuclear arsenals or, if it collapses, bring on disaster. The pressure comes from every side, and the drama lives in the room where the words are chosen: each one moves the world a little closer to peace or to destruction. As the tagline puts it, not all battles are fought with bullets.
