Small Prophets
Small Prophets is a comedy-drama series with a streak of mystery in it. The magical and the mundane unfold in a suburban shed as a lonely man stumbles on the supernatural, and the show sets its small domestic scale against whatever he finds there. Its tagline calls it a story of hope, grief, and the strange between-everyday things.
Pearce Quigley plays Michael Sleep, with Michael Palin as Brian Sleep. Lauren Patel is Kacey, Shola Adewusi is Olive, Jon Pointing plays Clive and Sophie Willan appears as Bev. Mackenzie Crook, who made Detectorists, directs and also takes the role of Gordon. Episodes run about 29m each, so the season is easy to get through in a couple of evenings. No age rating is listed. There is no earlier season to worry about.
Audiences have warmed to it: 8.3 on IMDb from 7238 votes, and 7.4 on Kinopoisk.
