Rosebush Pruning
Rosebush Pruning is a comedy-drama with a thriller edge, set in a Spanish villa where the American siblings Jack, Ed, Anna and Robert live off an inherited fortune and keep the outside world at a distance. Two things upset the arrangement: Jack decides he wants to move in with his girlfriend, and Ed uncovers the truth about how their mother died. From there the family's careful isolation starts coming apart. The tagline sums up the idea: people are roses, families are rosebushes, and rosebushes need pruning.
Callum Turner plays Ed and Jamie Bell plays Jack, with Lukas Gage as Robert, Elena Anaya as Emma and Elle Fanning as Martha. Tracy Letts and Pamela Anderson appear as Father and Mother. Karim Aïnouz directs; his previous films include Invisible Life and Firebrand. The running time is 1h 35m.
