Monsters of God
Filmmaker Eric Goode calls reptiles his first love, and this documentary series follows that interest into the underworld of exotic animal smuggling. It is a billion-dollar global network in which everyone is chasing a prize of some kind: the rarest species, the biggest fortune, or the most elusive criminal. The deeper Goode digs, the more the picture fills with outlaw traffickers, bombastic collectors and the law enforcement agents who refuse to let them go. Obsession, as the tagline warns, is a dangerous trade.
Monsters of God is directed by Goode himself, whose earlier documentary work includes Tiger King and Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story. Anna Czerniecki is credited as Elaine and Riley Wilson as Young Ray. The series is rated TV-MA. Episode running times are not listed; the investigation unfolds in sequence, so start at the beginning.
