Mercy
Mercy is a near-future science-fiction thriller built around a single countdown. A detective is on trial for the murder of his wife, and the court is an advanced AI Judge, a system he once publicly championed. He has ninety minutes to prove his innocence before it rules on his fate, and the tagline spells out the alternative: prove your innocence or face execution.
Chris Pratt plays the accused, Chris Raven, with Rebecca Ferguson as Judge Maddox, the artificial intelligence deciding his case. Kali Reis appears as Jacqueline 'Jaq' Diallo and Kylie Rogers plays Britt Raven. Timur Bekmambetov, the director of Wanted and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, is behind the film, which runs 1h 40m and carries a PG-13 rating, so the action stays on the bloodless side of the line.
