Love on the Amazon

Love on the Amazon is a romance made for television, and the setting does much of the work. Claire travels to Brazil carrying an important message for her sister Amelia, a marine biologist who is somewhere on the Amazon River studying pink dolphins. To reach her she hires Danny, a riverboat captain, and the journey upriver becomes the film: two strangers, one boat, and a lot of river between them and Amelia.

Jaicy Elliot plays Claire and Rafael de la Fuente is Danny; Raissa Xavier appears as Milly and Omar Pelaez as Bruno. Colin Theys directs, following earlier seasonal romances such as Christmas at Pemberley Manor and Romance at Reindeer Lodge. It runs 1h 24m and no age rating is listed, which fits its gentle, daytime-friendly register.

IMDb users have given it 5.9 from 384 votes, roughly where television romances of this kind tend to land.
