Just an Illusion
Just an Illusion is a comedy-drama set in suburban Paris in 1985. Vincent, a 12-year-old, lives with an older brother who keeps his distance and parents who quarrel. Between the laughter and the unease of that household, he finds his way through friendship and first love and begins to confront the adult world. The tagline describes it as a comedy about that period of childhood when the hope of changing the world was not just an illusion.
Simon Boublil plays Vincent Dayan. Louis Garrel and Camille Cottin play his parents, Yves Dayan and Sandrine Dayan, and Alexis Rosenstiehl is his brother Arnaud Dayan. Pierre Lottin appears as Étienne Berger and Jeanne Lamartine as Anne-Karine. The source material leaves the director unnamed. The film runs 1h 59m and has no listed age rating.
Its IMDb rating is currently 7.5.
