The Legend of Kitchen Soldier

A plastic-spoon man, the kind who starts with nothing handed to him, is on the path to becoming a legendary army cook. His cooking skills do more than feed the base: they give him a way to uncover the dark secrets hidden inside it. The tagline treats the whole thing as a game, in the game of life, we all face countless quests of choice, and the series matches that with a mix of fantasy, comedy and drama set inside a military kitchen.

Park Ji-hoon plays Kang Sung-jae, with Yoon Kyung-ho as Park Jae-young, Han Dong-hee as Cho Ye-rin and Lee Hong-nae as Yoon Dong-hyun. Jo Nam-hyung, whose earlier series include Tale of the Nine Tailed and A Superior Day, directs. Episodes run about 1h 0m; start from the first, since the cook's rise and the secrets he stumbles on build episode by episode. No age rating is listed.

IMDb shows 8.8, but from only 9 votes, so the number says little yet.
