Different Lives
Trailer unavailableEmir grew up in Ziyankâr, a working-class neighbourhood on the edge of Istanbul, alongside his friends Hasan, Sadık and Mert. For all four, life feels like a game lost before it started: poverty, violence and despair hem them in on every side. Soccer is the one thing they can see that might change their fate, and Different Lives follows their attempt to climb out of that darkness on the strength of friendship and a shared dream.
The series shifts between comedy and drama. Rahimcan Kapkap plays Emir Cankaya, with Nehir Erdoğan as Zehra Cankaya, İlker Aksum as Bayram Cankaya and Yüsra Geyik as Nihal Cankaya making up his family, while Feyyaz Duman appears as Tarık Dirlik and Elçin Zehra Irem as Naz Başer. No director is credited in the listing, and episode length and age rating are not given. Watch it in order; the friendships are the story.
IMDb users rate it 8.1, though from only 94 votes so far, and Kinopoisk has yet to weigh in.
