The Swedish Connection
Gösta Engzell was a bureaucrat in the Swedish Foreign Ministry, the kind of official history tends to overlook. During WWII he used that position to rescue thousands of people, turning a supposedly neutral Sweden into a moral force in the process. The film follows how his efforts challenged the status quo of his own ministry and left a humanitarian legacy that outlasted the war.
Henrik Dorsin plays Gösta Engzell. Sissela Benn appears as Rut Vogl, Jonas Karlsson as Staffan Söderström, Marianne Mörck as Stina Johansson and Johan Glans as Göran Von Otter. Thérèse Ahlbeck and Marcus Olsson share directing duties. The Swedish Connection is a historical war drama running 1h 42m and rated PG-13, so it is suitable for older teenagers as well as adults.
On IMDb the film holds 6.9 from 4250 votes. No Kinopoisk rating is on record.
