The Maharashtra Files
The Maharashtra Files centres on a woman from the Banjara community whose land has been acquired by the government. Getting the fair compensation she is owed turns into a battle against bureaucratic corruption and a political nexus that would rather she gave up quietly. The film stays with her fight rather than the machinery around it, framing a familiar injustice through one person's refusal to accept it.
The cast includes Sapna Choudhary, Gautami Patil, Mangli Satyavathi, Sunny Leone, Sunil Godse, Veena Jamkar, Mangesh Desai and Sayaji Shinde; the listing does not assign characters to the actors. Sanjivkumar Rathod directs. The film runs a full 2h 0m. No genre tags, age rating or audience scores are recorded yet, so what you have to go on is the premise itself: a land dispute, a marginalised community and the people in power who stand between them and what they are due.
