The Rip

The Rip (original title RIP) is a crime thriller that starts with a windfall and turns into a siege of suspicion. A team of Miami cops raids a run-down stash house and finds millions in cash inside. Nobody outside the room knows yet, and the film watches trust fray as every member of the team, and every assumption they held about each other, is called into question. The tagline sets the tone: count the money, count it again, count on no one.

Matt Damon plays Lieutenant Dane Dumars and Ben Affleck is Detective Sergeant J.D. Byrne, with Teyana Taylor as Detective Numa Baptistie and Steven Yeun as Detective Mike Ro. Joe Carnahan, whose earlier films include The Grey and Boss Level, directs. It runs 1h 53m and is rated R.

Audiences have landed in the middle: 6.6 on Kinopoisk and 6.8 on IMDb, the latter from a very large 91952 votes.
