Return to Silent Hill

Return to Silent Hill is the third film in the Silent Hill Collection, following Silent Hill (2006) and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (2012). James receives a letter from his lost love Mary and goes looking for her in Silent Hill, a town he once knew that is now swallowed by darkness. The search puts monstrous creatures in his path and leads toward a truth that threatens his sanity. The tagline sums up the mood: guilt is a place you can never leave.

Jeremy Irvine plays James Sunderland, and Hannah Emily Anderson takes on several faces at once as Mary Crane, Angela, Maria and Moth Mary. Ljiljana Velimirov and Giulia Pelagatti appear as the creatures known as Armless and the Spider Lady. Christophe Gans, who directed the original Silent Hill as well as Brotherhood of the Wolf, is behind the camera. Runtime is 1h 46m and the film is rated R.

Audience scores are the lowest in the series: 5.0 on Kinopoisk and 4.2 on IMDb from 7007 votes, against 7.2 and 6.5 for the 2006 film and 5.2 and 4.9 for Revelation 3D.
