François writes gripping crime stories, the swashbuckling Marquis la Rose-novels, but away from the page he mostly sits around the apartment in his pyjamas. His partner Colette, a Sorbonne professor and world-renowned expert on Alfred Hitchcock, longs for the excitement of the classic films she teaches. When she begins to suspect their flamboyant actor neighbour of murdering his wife, their mundane routine is upended and the stale relationship comes back to life. A comedy drama with a crime plot at its core, originally titled Le crime du 3e étage.

Gilles Lellouche plays François and Laetitia Casta is Colette. Guillaume Gallienne appears as Yann Kerbec, and Isabel Aimé González-Sola plays Emma. Rémi Bezançon, whose earlier films include The Mystery of Henri Pick, directs. The film runs 1h 46m; no age rating is listed.
