Power Ballad
Rick is a wedding singer whose best years are behind him. At a gig he meets Danny, a boy-band star whose own star is fading, and the two hit it off over music and a late-night jam session. Then Danny turns one of Rick's songs into the hit that relaunches his career, and Rick decides to reclaim the recognition he believes is his, even if it costs him everything he cares about. The tagline says it plainly: it's time to set the record straight. It is a comedy with music at the centre and a drama underneath.
Paul Rudd plays Rick and Nick Jonas plays Danny Wilson. Jack Reynor appears as Mac, Havana Rose Liu as Marcia, Peter McDonald as Sandy and Marcella Plunkett as Rachel. The director is not identified in the source data. It runs 1h 39m and is rated R.
IMDb users give it 6.8 from 5037 votes, a solid showing for a mid-length musical comedy.
