PONIES
PONIES is a crime drama series set in Moscow in 1977. Its title is spy jargon for persons of no interest, and that is exactly what its two heroines are assumed to be until their husbands are killed. Turning that invisibility to their advantage, the pair become CIA operatives and start unpicking a Cold War conspiracy that cost the men their lives. The series builds its tension on how little anyone expects of them.
Emilia Clarke plays Bea and Haley Lu Richardson plays Twila, the two women at the centre. Adrian Lester appears as Dane and Artjom Gilz as Andrei. No director is credited in the data and no episode runtime is listed. The series is rated TV-MA. As a single-story spy drama, it should be started from the first episode.
IMDb voters are warmer than Kinopoisk users: 7.1 from 5338 votes against 6.3.
