Passenger
A young couple living out of their van stop at a gruesome highway accident, and soon after they realise they did not leave the crash scene alone. Something demonic, called the Passenger, has attached itself to them and will not stop until it has claimed them both. The tagline puts the premise in cold numbers: 130 million people take road trips every year, and 15,400 of them are never seen again. What was a van-life adventure becomes a horror story on wheels.
Jacob Scipio plays Tyler Genocchio and Lou Llobell plays Maddie Brecker, the couple at the centre, with Melissa Leo as Diana Larson and Joseph Lopez as the Passenger himself. Devielle Johnson appears as a neighborhood volunteer. André Øvredal, whose earlier horror films include The Autopsy of Jane Doe and The Last Voyage of the Demeter, directs. It runs 1h 34m and is rated R.
IMDb users rate it 5.6 from 861 votes, a middling reception for a road-trip possession thriller.
