Archives: The Nanyang Mystery
Set in the early days of the Republic of China, Archives: The Nanyang Mystery begins with a murder at sea. Zhang Haiyan and his partner are drawn into the investigation aboard the massive ship Nan'an, and what starts as a search for the truth quickly spirals into a dangerous conspiracy. Before long the two are no longer solving a case but fighting to survive in a world of intrigue and betrayal.
The series pairs mystery with action-adventure, and its episodes run around 42m. Zhang Xincheng plays Zhang Haiyan, who also goes by Zhang Hailou, with Ding Yuxi as Zhang Haixia, Jiang Peiyao as Zhang Haiqi and Fu Dalong as Mo Yungao. Zhou Jingtao directs; his earlier series include The Legend of Chusen. No age rating is listed. The conspiracy unfolds in sequence, so begin with the first episode.
IMDb users currently give it 8.1, though from just 57 votes; there is no Kinopoisk score yet.
