Midwinter Break
Stella and Gerry have been together a long time and retired for a good part of it. A holiday in Amsterdam is meant to be a break, but somewhere in it they realise the relationship has reached a crossroads. Decades of memories carry long-held promises and wounds that have been carefully concealed, and the trip threatens to bring all of it into the open and force a decision about what comes next. The tagline speaks of a day they can't forget and a truth they can't escape.
Lesley Manville plays Stella and Ciarán Hinds plays Gerry. Julie Lamberton and Ed Sayer appear as Young Stella and Young Gerry, and Niamh Cusack plays Kathy. Polly Findlay directs; the source lists no earlier films for her. The drama runs 1h 30m and is rated PG-13.
