Tough Luck

Tough Luck, released in 2026 as Mauvaise Pioche in France, is a comedy of mistaken identity. Serge Martin is a peaceful retiree until the day he is arrested in error and taken for the most wanted man in the country. From that moment the media will not leave him alone, and he is swept into a whirlwind that refuses to end. The film follows his attempts to prove his innocence and get his old life back, if that is still possible.

Gérard Jugnot directs and stars as Serge Martin; his earlier films include Monsieur Batignole. Around him are Thierry Lhermitte as Laurent Malbec, Philippe Lacheau as Grégory Vassilian, Jean-Pierre Darroussin as Commissaire Taillade, Zabou Breitman as Michèle and Michèle Laroque as Marie Duteil, with Reem Kherici and Charlotte Gabris as Léa Paoli and Pascale Forzano.
