The Marine Spirit: A Tale Of The Mami Wata
The Marine Spirit: A Tale Of The Mami Wata is a horror film that presents itself as based on factual events, told through the eyes of a Nigerian couple. The young pair find themselves haunted by the spirit of the Mami Wata, an ancient African water deity, and what they discover in response is the power of faith and prayer. The film is as much about belief as about the haunting itself.
Draiel Prince and Merlisa Determined play Keneth and Camari Okafor, the couple at the centre. Zalika Thomas plays the Mami Wata Spirit, with Charles "Skeeta" Jenkins as the Man of God, Facce Agugua as Father John and Jeffery Gray as Father Williams. GuGu E. Michaels directs, following an earlier film, Incubated. The film runs 1h 48m. No age rating is listed, and there is no audience score on record yet.
This is "The Conjuring" franchise on steroids and more terrifying.
