Unsubmissives
Unsubmissives is a 2026 crime drama set in the south of France in the early 1990's. Katy, Hélène, Laurence and Carole have been best friends since childhood. Now in their twenties, they are stuck in a sunny small hometown with hardship all around and few opportunities, getting by on cheerfulness and on each other. Then Hélène, a single mother of three, is told that her welfare checks have been cut, and her ability to support her family is suddenly in question. Feeling powerless against an injustice they cannot argue with, the women resolve to change the course of their lives themselves.
