Kylie
Kylie Minogue, the Australian pop star, opens her personal archives for this documentary series and looks back on a career in which she has sold 80 million records and reinvented herself, and pop with her, several times. Home movies, personal photographs and new interviews build the picture, and she addresses the harder parts directly: public scrutiny, personal loss and illness. The tagline promises closer than ever before, and the archive material is what backs that up.
Kylie Minogue appears as herself, and Dannii Minogue is also on camera as herself. Jason Donovan, Pete Waterman and Nick Cave are among the other people who take part, while the listing names no director. Episodes run about 1h 1m, and the series is best taken from the first one rather than dipped into, since the interviews and archive footage are meant to accumulate. No age rating is listed.
