Royal Betrothal

Royal Betrothal is a 2026 drama series set in the imperial court of the Daping Dynasty. A decade ago Meng Tinghui was rescued on the brink of death; since then the nameless survivor has become the dynasty's first female scholar admitted to the Hanlin Academy. Her colleagues know her as a sharp, ruthless official, but she hides a quiet devotion to the man who saved her, Emperor Ying Gua, and is determined to help him become the greatest ruler in history by any means. What she cannot see, amid the plotting and power struggles, is that the emperor's heart has been hers all along.

Wu Jinyan leads as Meng Tinghui, with Chen Zheyuan as Emperor Ying Gua. The court around them includes Zhao Zhaoyi as Yan Fuzhi, Liang Yongqi as Yin Qing, Zhang Nan as Shen Zhili and Dylan Kuo as Gu Qin. Zhang Yanjie directs. No runtime or age rating is listed for the series, and no audience scores have been recorded yet, so the story of a scholar and her emperor will have to speak for itself.
