Is God Is
Two sisters embark on an epic quest for revenge. Along the way they have to confront a charged family history, and what they learn pushes them to extraordinary lengths. The tagline gives the mission its bluntest form: make your daddy dead, real dead. The film is a drama with a thriller's momentum, and the quest structure keeps the focus on the two women and what the journey does to them.
Kara Young plays Racine and Mallori Johnson plays Anaia, the sisters, with Sterling K. Brown as Man, Vivica A. Fox as Ruby and Janelle Monáe as Angie. Aleshea Harris directs. It runs 1h 40m and is rated R, which the revenge premise and the tagline make no effort to hide. Expect a story that is as much about inheritance and anger as about the act of vengeance itself.
Make your daddy dead. Real dead.
