Doctor on the Edge
Doctor on the Edge, originally titled Dakteo seomboi, is a comedy drama series about a loophole. In South Korea every man must do military service, but a select few, such as privileged medical students, can serve as public health doctors instead. Do Ji-ui, a plastic surgeon, takes that route and is posted to Pyeondong-do, an isolated island no one wants to be sent to. Ominous signs appear from the very first day, and the question the series poses is whether he can last a full year there or whether the island breaks him first.
Lee Jae-wook plays Do Ji-ui, with Shin Ye-eun as Yook Ha-ri, Hong Min-gi as Hyun Chi-yeon and Lee Soo-kyung as Uhm Jeong-seon. The tagline pairs an anxious doctor with an empathetic nurse. No director or episode runtime is listed; the series is rated TV-14. Start from the first episode, since the posting begins there.
On IMDb the series holds a 7.0 from 373 votes.
