Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For the Watchmaker

Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For the Watchmaker is the third film in The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries Collection, following the 2025 entry A Case for the Yarn Maker. Ainsley thought craft markets and book clubs, not corpses, would define her new life back home in Sweet River. Then a beloved member of the book club raises a cold case: her late husband was found murdered over his rare antique watch. Ainsley sets out to untangle a web of small-town secrets before the killer winds the clock down on the next victim.

Each film stands on its own, so this is a fine entry point, though the earlier two introduce Sweet River. Candace Cameron Bure plays Ainsley McGregor, with Robin Dunne as Ryan McGregor, Aaron Ashmore as Jake, BJ Harrison as Mrs. Wheadon and Francisca Dennis as Maria Martinez. Martin Wood directs, as he did Operation Christmas Drop and Real Murders: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery. The film runs 1h 24m and is rated PG.

At 7.5 on IMDb from 172 votes, it scores higher than its predecessors, which sit at 6.4 for the Winemaker and 6.5 for the Yarn Maker.
