53 Sundays

Three siblings agree to meet and talk through what should happen to their aging father. The conversation never stays on topic: within minutes the reunion has slid into bickering, banter and the reopening of grudges that have been waiting years for an audience. It is a family drama played as a comedy, and a short one, so the arguments do not have room to cool down.

Javier Cámara plays Julián, Javier Gutiérrez is Víctor and Carmen Machi is Natalia, with Alexandra Jiménez as Carolina. The film is directed by Cesc Gay, whose earlier work includes Truman and The People Upstairs, both built on the same kind of small-room confrontation. It runs 1h 18m and is rated R.

On IMDb the film holds 5.9 from 1532 votes; there is no Kinopoisk score yet.
