The career of Lucienne van den Heuvel, with Loes short for her first name, took off in the 1980s co-starring alongside Flemish greats Jo De Meyere and Chris Lomme in the acclaimed drama series Hard Labeur (1985). This was followed up by a main role in youth targeting detective show Postbus X (1989) as editor-in-chief Adèle Pluym, granting her recognition in Flanders. A graduate of Antwerp based Studio Herman Teirlinck's class of 1981, she is mostly identified as cleaning woman Carmen Vandormael in the sitcom F.C. De Kampioenen (1990), forming a TV couple with Johny Voners (Xavier Waterslaeghers) for over twenty years. Carmen became role she ultimately built her career on, as otherwise she took few roles.
